THE HISTORY OF DESSANGE

Jacques Dessange opened his first salon in 1956 on the Champs Elysees, one of the most prestigious sites in Paris. Before long, top Parisian designers Jacques Fath, Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Coco Chanel sought his talent for their collection shows. The models and celebrities – Brigitte Bardot, Jean Seberg, Kim Novak and Jane Fonda among them, who wore his hair designs, spread his name.

Today, the tradition of beauty that began in Paris 50 years ago is now offered throughout the world in over 900 Dessange Paris salons. It is the Dessange Group’s aspiration to allow women in every country to appreciate the quality, service, hygiene and understanding. Internationally recognized for its dedication to personalized, feminine beauty, Dessange Paris has been selected as the official hair stylist for the Cannes Film Festival and Roland Garros French Tennis Open; as the official hair stylist and make-up artist for the American Film Festival in Deauville; and was for several years the hair stylist to the players of the US Tennis Open. During these events, Dessange’s clientele has included Gwyneth Paltrow, Winona Ryder, Sharon Stone, Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas, Andie McDowell, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Uma Thurman and Kate Moss to name a few. Catherine Deneuve, Juliette Binoche, Chiara Mastroiani are among the many regular patrons of the flagship Dessange Paris located on the Champs-Elysees.
